HAZAMA ANDO CORPORATION (“HAZAMA ANDO” or “the Company) hereby announces that it procured all of the electricity used in the Group’s business activities from power derived from renewable energy sources (“renewal energy power”) in fiscal 2021. As a result , the Company exceeded its medium-term target of 80% renewable energy power usage in fiscal 2030 set under the RE100 Initiative for the subject fiscal year. In addition, the amount of GHG emission reduction is projected to come in at 15 thousand tCO₂ on a preliminary basis.
The aforementioned renewable energy power was procured through a combination of solar power generation facilities installed at each business site, renewable energy power supplied by retail electricity providers, and the purchase of non-fossil fuel certified energy(Note1).
This initiative is part of the Company’s efforts to achieve its SBT(Note2) and RE100(Note3) targets while contributing to the reduction of emissions throughout customers’ supply chains.
Looking ahead, HAZAMA ANDO will work diligently to procure renewable energy, participate in various renewable energy businesses, and accelerate the pace of next-generation energy management and other system development in a bid to achieve its targets in one with each of the SBT and RE100 initiatives.
The HAZAMA ANDO Group will steadily promote steps that will ensure that the next generation enjoys the fruits of a rich global environment by realizing a decarbonized and recycling-oriented society.
