HAZAMA ANDO CORPORATION (“HAZAMA ANDO” or “the Company”) is endeavoring to protect the environment and reduce its environmental impact to help realize a sustainable society. In carrying out these endeavors, the Group’s newly set greenhouse gas emissions reduction target for 2030 was recognized as being consistent with the 1.5 degrees Celsius level, which aims to limit the increase in global average temperature to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. Moreover, HAZAMA ANDO reacquired certification under the Science Based Target (SBT) Initiative(Note1) in December 2024 (Table1).
In December 2019, the HAZAMA ANDO Group adopted the WB2 degrees Celsius level as its greenhouse gas emissions reduction target, based on scientific evidence to limit the increase in the global average temperature to well below 2 degrees Celsius compared with the pre-industrial level and acquired SBT certification(Note2). In light of the recent accelerated movement toward achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, the Company has revised its greenhouse gas emissions reduction target to the 1.5 degrees Celsius level.
In addition to energy- and resource-saving activities, HAZAMA ANDO is working on the following items to achieve its established target value.
- Scope1…Use of alternatives to diesel fuels (biodiesel, etc.) and the promotion of efforts to electrify construction work (including the introduction of electric construction machinery)
- Scope2…Use of electricity generated from renewable energy sources
- Scope3…Development of low-carbon concrete for use in construction work and the use of low-carbon materials; the promotion of net zero energy buildings (ZEB), etc.
The HAZAMA ANDO Group has set efforts to “create environmental value” as one of Four Value Creation strategies under VISION2030(Note3) its long-term vision and is working steadily to promote initiatives in a bid to contribute to the realization of a decarbonized, low environmental impact, recycling-oriented to leave a fertile global environment for the next generation going forward.

Science Based Targets (SBT) Initiative
Jointly established in 2015 by four organizations, CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project), the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI), and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the SBT Initiative is an international undertaking that encourages firms to set GHG emissions reduction targets in line with the levels required by the Paris Agreement. -
